Phil Patton Community Service Awards

The Phil Patton Community Service Award, recognizes Corporate HCA employees who have made outstanding contributions to their communities through volunteerism. The awards are named in honor of our friend and colleague who dedicated much of his life to serving and tending to the needs of others. Patton, who passed away in 2003, held the position of Senior Vice President of Human Resources and was well known for his deep compassion for the poor and underserved members of our community.

The 2011 recipient of the Phil Patton Community Service Award was Susan Short-Jones, pictured second from the right. Among her lifetime of service volunteering and serving in the community, Susan has served on the Metro Board of Parks and Recreation for over 20 years. She has also served on the board of the Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health and on the board of the HCA HOPE Fund. Congratulations to Susan for her achievement.
